Heart health - tips and treatments

We all know we should be eating several servings of fruits and vegetables every day as part of a heart healthy diet. We also all know how difficult it can be to do that. Even if we do get our full servings in, the condition of our produce these days is questionable. Our soil is overworked and drained of nutrients needed to produce healthy fruits and vegetables. In many cases processing of fruits and vegetables destroys the nutrients and antioxidants. It seems nearly impossible to rely on food to bring us the nutrition that our bodies need to be strong and vibrant.

That is exactly why so much attention is being given to super fruits lately. Super fruits earn their name mainly for their high level of antioxidants and other nutritional benefits. These fruits may be new to the western world but they have long been used by other cultures for their amazing nutrition. One super fruit in particular has properties that appear to qualify it as vital to a heart healthy diet.

Often, many think of olive oil first when it comes to healthy oils. However, many people don't realize that canola oil provides lower cholesterol-raising saturated fats and the same health benefits as olive oil without the strong olive taste.

Obesity can cause some serious health problems among people. These health risks may include heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer, stroke, gallstones, gall bladder disease, gout, and osteoarthritis. It can also cause breathing problems among some people like sleep apnea, in which a person may stop breathing for sometime during sleep.

If you have a family history of certain chronic diseases like heart disease or diabetes, then you are at an increased risk of developing these problems on becoming overweight or obese. Some medical conditions such as high blood pressure and high cholesterol may also sound warnings signs for serious obesity-related risks.

Heart diseases and strokes are the leading causes of deaths in the United States. This is because overweight people suffer from high blood pressure, blood fats (triglycerides) and angina which lead to major heart problems and strokes. The problem occurs when plaque, a fatty material, builds up on the inner walls of coronary arteries which supplies oxygenated blood to the heart. The plaque in the arteries narrows it hence reducing flow of oxygenated blood to the heart.

One of the easiest ways to manage heart disease is by altering your diet to include more Omega-3 fish oil. Fish oil is considered by proponents to be a miracle food that is the panacea for coronary disease. At the same time, a distinction should be made between Omega-3 and Omega-6 fish oils. The former has been widely studied in the context of heart disease, while the latter is found in many processed foods and is considered to be consumed by Americans in much higher amounts than recommended by physicians. According to Warren Tattersall from The Health Success Site, the ideal consumption ratio of Omega-3 fish oils to Omega-6 oils is 1:1; however, the actual ratio is thought to be 1:20 or even 1:50, which can be harmful to humans.

Laughing is also considered as best work out that massages all the organs of our body. It is best exercise for brain because it supplies oxygen to your brain and makes it stress free. Laughter reduces the level of stress hormones that makes immune system stronger. Laughter exercise is especially good for those peoples who have busy schedule and don’t have time to go to fitness clubs. They can do laughing exercise anytime, anywhere throughout the day. Laughter also helps us make more productive, confident and a better communicator.
